If the Easter Bunny got its sugary paws into you, its time to recharge and load up on some delicious greens!
We all know we can never have too many in our diet, but sometimes its hard to incorporate enough greenery in our everyday food intake. Making a juice or smoothie is a very efficient way of injecting the green goodness into your body. You don’t even have to have loads of fresh greens in the fridge; a cheap and easy option is to use frozen spinach cubes.
Here is my simple ‘Green Machine’ go to smoothie:
1 handful of spinach or kale
1/4 cucumber
1/4 avocado
1 handful of frozen berries
½ inch ginger or some fresh mint to taste
Blend this lot, add some water to dilute and down it! If its too bitter, add half a banana or a spoon of honey/agave. Enough for for 1-2 servings.
Nutrition notes: Fresh and organic is always best, but not always available or affordable. Check out some of the green powders on the market – I use Terra Nova Life Drink Powder. And this will short cut even making a smoothie, simply mix a couple of spoons of this into a juice and down it!
